I am a Core Energetic Therapist and Psychotherapeutic counsellor

I specialise in working with people who want to find and move towards their life goals, who are facing major life changes and transitions, and who are dealing with grief and loss and end of life issues.

I also have experience of working with eating disorders, addiction, control issues, anger and depression.

In France, I own and run a retreat centre where I host retreats for people dealing with cancer.

About me

Counselling

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling accredited by the CPCAB and I am a member of the Counselling in France Association.

I do not align with one specific therapeutic school of thought as I find they all offer essential insights. My aim is to match my approach to your issue, building on the foundation of an open, trusting, non-judgemental and honest relationship.

Being a ‘talk’ therapy, counselling is particularly helpful for people who prefer to articulate their problems in words and are mind-oriented. It also translates very well online or over the phone.

Core Energetic Therapy

I am also a Core Energetic Therapist accredited with the Netherlands Institute of Core Energetics. Core Energetics is a form of ‘body-oriented’ or ‘somatic’ psychotherapy that works on the basis that the body and mind are essentially one unit and, therefore, inseparable. What affects the mind affects the body and vice versa. Becoming aware of emotions and feelings felt in the body and facilitating expression of these can provide access to unconscious thoughts and behaviours that might not come to light simply by talking. Likewise, by working with the body, energetic blockages can be released to allow a flow of emotion and feelings.

By giving the body the opportunity to express itself through movement, sound and awareness you can let go of unresolved problems and experiences that may be inhibiting you from experiencing life to the full and learn new tools and behaviours that will facilitate personal growth.

Core Energetic Therapy is appropriate for everyone and is particularly suited to people who are more comfortable expressing themselves physically rather than verbally, who have experienced trauma, who experience physical pain that appears not to have a physical basis, and who have tried ‘talk’ therapies but have found them ineffective.

Why I am a therapist

I am a therapist because I am fascinated about people and their stories. I find it an immense privilege to be trusted by others and allowed to share the most intimate, deepest, darkest and vulnerable parts of themselves. It is hugely rewarding to help people to understand and deal with whatever is hindering them and to support them to move forward in their lives feeling freer, grounded in their true selves and able to engage fully in life.

My background

I have been investigating what it means to be human for more than 30 years, much of it in an applied way on myself! I love philosophy and psychotherapy and I am fascinated by the rapidly diminishing boundary between spirituality and science. I balance my intellectual interests with a daily yoga and meditation practice and long walks with my dog. My creative side is expressed through cooking and working in my garden. Above all I cherish my family and friends.

Beyond Cancer

- Restore & Revitalise

In addition to working as a therapist, my husband and I run the Puyssentut retreat centre where we specialise in Restore and Revitalise retreats for people dealing with, or recovering from, cancer. We help people release the trauma of a cancer diagnosis and its treatment and to shift out of crisis-mode, to reconnect with their whole selves and to restore their energy so that they can return back fully into their daily lives.

The week-long retreat is a therapeutic process from the moment guests arrive, leaving their daily stresses at the door, to the moment they leave, ready to re-engage.

We offer yoga, meditation, relaxation sessions, complementary treatments, delicious food to nourish the body and plenty of time to rest and relax. But more than that, it is a chance to reconnect with the simple pleasures of life and to enjoy being amongst caring people in a beautiful environment.

We also run and host retreats for general health and well-being.
